Airline

The real AeroLogic-company is a German cargo-airline based in Germany/Schkeuditz near Leipzig. It is a joint-venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo which operates scheduled international and long-haul cargo services out of its two hubs Leipzig/Halle Airport and Frankfurt Airport. It emerged from a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo that had been in existence since 2004. DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo each hold a 50 percent stake in the company.

In 2009, the German Federal Aviation Authority granted AeroLogic an operating license to carry mail and cargo in commercial traffic, having previously approved the first Boeing 777F registered in Germany for the cargo airline. AeroLogic began official flight operations on June 19, 2009. AeroLogic mainly operates long-haul cargo flights from its two hubs, but also from Cologne/Bonn Airport, on behalf of its two parent companies DHL and Lufthansa Cargo. Destinations are in Asia, Europe and North America. The fleet flies to Asia mainly for DHL Express on weekdays, while Lufthansa Cargo's fleet is available on weekends.

AeroLogic operates 13 aircraft in appropriate livery. 8 further aircraft are operated in DHL livery - AeroLogic VA is therefore limited to 13 aircraft.

Like the real company, AeroLogic VA is based out of Leipzig/Halle Airport located in Germany, operating with ”German Cargo” as callsign, which is a reference to Lufthansa Cargo's past.
